To open the heart,
one must love those who are small;
God loves every soul.

The day I found Christ Jesus truly in my heart, was the day I turned with love unto the wretched. This is the wisdom of Francis of Assisi, who kept company with lepers; and the wisdom of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who tended the poor. If you cannot love those who no one loves, then you have no part in Christ, and no place in Heaven. This is why I say, the best prayer is a prayer for those who hate you; doing this will feed your soul, that it may grow.

Better to love, than to be loved; better to give, than to receive; for in giving, we receive; and that which we receive in giving, this is an eternal gift, which shall never perish.

To perform an act of charity, it is not enough just to give; even billionaires give freely to the poor, but they earn nothing, for making it known to everyone that they have given. To receive from God, one must give in secret; and not let the trumpets blare that you have given a gift. For charity, it takes nothing, not even praise; and the best charity, it takes only malice in exchange for giving something good.

When you learn to give unto your enemies; then you have spoken The Gospel, and preached it to the world; and even without a single word, you have brought The Holy Name of Jesus Christ into hearts.
