This work is one of my myriad renditions of Maria Faustina Kowalska’s, “Divine Mercy Image of Jesus Christ.” In her diary, Jesus tells Faustina that it is not in the perfection of the aesthetic that this image is of importance, but in the essence of grace and mercy imbued by Christ Jesus upon the image. My work is intended to be smoked with a prayer to God as it is consumed. By purchasing this work of mine, you are doing what the poor widow did, when she placed her two coins into the temple collection box; giving away from your living, so that God might hear your prayer. The Divine Mercy is available to you at no cost at all; and I encourage people to produce “fakes,” of this work, whether to distribute freely, or like me, to sell. But woe to those who turn a profit for themselves by this, rather than working for Christ’s kingdom with their profits; God sees.
